RO Duty
Registration Officer Task Checklist
To the RO on duty...
Arrive on time (Sunday 10.45 and Tuesday 4.45) Your duty lasts for a minimum of one hour 15 minutes, and a maximum of one hour 45 minutes.
The access code for the NLSA cupboard is available from any member of the committee of fellow sailors. Remove the register folder (Sunday blue and Tuesday red) blue repairs book, biro, whiteboard and felt tips.
Set yourself up in the area opposite the laser store and make yourself known to the West Reservoir sailing SI(s) who should be in the area (usually in green tee-shirts and blue buoyancy aids). They can assist with any questions or problems.
Ensure that all members and guests sign the register and check that guests have a booking confirmed by email.
Ensure that members do not reserve any boats before the session starts (Sunday 11.00 and Tuesday 5.00). When they do reserve boats they should be dressed and ready to sail.
Show new members where buoyancy aids are and remind them that when sailing they should keep away from kayakers and paddle-boarders and should remain at least 1.5 mast lengths from the green buoys separating the sailing area from the swimming area.
Help members launch (remember to wear a buoyancy aid on the slipway and pontoon) and stack the trolleys.
Log any disrepairs reported to you in the blue repairs book (description, boat/ sail number).
Log the number of NLSA boats on the water at the foot of the first page of the register.
At the end of the sailing session, help with getting boats off the water and make sure that all members sign out. Put the register and other items back in the cupboard and lock up. If you are leaving before the end of the session, ask another member to do this.
